NWS Art Exhibition!
Throughout term 1 and 2, the room 4 artists have been very busy! We have learnt to use different techniques such as paper mâché, weaving and jewellery making. Our artworks are related to Matariki. Check out the process...
We were inspired by the book 'Tane and the Stars', so we decided to make an 'ipu' (vessel) for Tane to carry his stars in.
We chose our balloon and got to work...
Mela and Lola are concentrating very hard while putting on their first layer.
Kawiti and Ellysa have done 7 layers of paper mâché! Now they're carefully painting the outside of their ipu.
Tane's ipus are almost complete. We just need to decorate them with special string designs.Your finished products looks amazing room 4!
Siya is carefully threading the paper 'under and over'. Well done Siya!Tuesday, 8 September 2015
